Weekend Recap: Award-Worthy Runs from an Epic Weekend of Monster Jam

Authored by Monster Jam on March 4, 2024
‘March Madness’ seemingly kicked off in Monster Jam this weekend as drivers put on some unforgettable runs in Orlando, Arlington, Rosemont and Portland.

Stadium Championship Series East – Orlando

Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) reminded us all of why he is the points leader by sweeping all three competitions at the tour’s stop at Camping World Stadium on Saturday. However, Tristan England (JCB DIGatron) and Todd LeDuc (Megalodon) aren’t giving him any room to relax. LeDuc met Menninga in the Racing final, and then finished runner-up to him in the Great Clips Skills Challenge too. England got 2nd place in Freestyle, while Menninga went out and ran a Freestyle run that scored a 9.634, thanks in part to these incredible moves:

Stadium Championship Series West – Arlington

Bari Musawwir (Zombie) picked up the Overall Event Championship in Saturday’s event at AT&T Stadium, while Ryan Anderson (Son-Uva Digger) picked up Racing and Skills wins to maintain a healthy points lead over Grave Digger, which was being piloted by Charlie Pauken this weekend. Ryan Anderson gave the fans an impressive save in Skills, and Camden Murphy (Bakugan Dragonoid) backed that up with a series of saves in his Freestyle run, which took the win with an impressive 9.817:

Arena Championship Series Central – Rosemont

Camden Murphy’s 9.817 Freestyle run from Arlington was not the highest Freestyle score of the weekend. Weston Anderson (Grave Digger) pulled that off in Rosemont with a 9.840 at the opening event of the weekend at the Allstate Arena. Weston won three of the Overall Event Championships throughout the weekend, while Jamie Sullivan (Monster Mutt Dalmatian) got back to her winning ways after missing a couple of events and took home the other two Overall Event Championships. Brandan Tulachka (Just Get-Er-Done II) scored a Skills Challenge win, while Brianna Mahon (Scooby-Doo) took home a Sky Wheelie Challenge win and a Freestyle win. Fernando Martinez (El Toro Loco) picked up two Skills Challenge wins and is a serious contender for Rookie of the Year.

Arena Championship Series West – Portland

With the news last week that Matt Cody would be replacing Brandon Vinson as the driver of Grave Digger for the rest of the tour, it begs the question as to whether Cody would be able to maintain the points lead for the black-and-green wrecking machine. So far, the answer is an emphatic yes. Cody won the first two Overall Event Championships of the weekend through consistency, winning only Freestyle on Friday. He turned that around Saturday evening and Sunday, winning Racing and Skills on Saturday and Sky Wheelies and Freestyle on Sunday. Tony Ochs (ThunderROARus) was the only other driver to win an Overall Event Championship throughout the weekend on Saturday evening, while Dalton Widner (Jurassic Attack) and Ashley Sanford (Megalodon) picked off five and two competition wins respectively.
