Weekend Recap: Team Grave Digger Excels with Incredible Moves in Week 7

Authored by Monster Jam on February 20, 2024

With the season in full swing, the Monster Jam athletes did not disappoint this weekend with incredible moves and saves across the board.

Stadium East – Minneapolis

Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) did Tyler Menninga things at the U.S. Bank Stadium, and it earned him a sweep of the weekend’s two overall event championships. Menninga won Skills and Freestyle both days, while Tristan England (JCB DIGatron) and John Gordon (Bad Company) picked up Racing wins. England performed strongly, missing out on the Freestyle win on Sunday by 0.08 on JudgesZone and placing runner-up both days.

Stadium West – Anaheim

Ryan Anderson (Son-uva Digger) continued to pad his points lead by sweeping the two overall event championships at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Ryan won both Racing events as well as Skills on Saturday. Brother Adam Anderson (Grave Digger) won Skills on Sunday, while the two Freestyle events were won by Camden Murphy (Bakugan Dragonoid) and Joe Foley (El Toro Loco). David Olfert in Velociraptor performed strongly in each competition, getting 2nd overall on Saturday and 3rd on Sunday.

Arena Central – Worcester

Just one point prevented Weston Anderson (Grave Digger) from sweeping all four events at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. He swept each competition on Friday and then won both Saturday overall event championships too, but then lost out to Brandan Tulachka (Just Get-Er-Done II) on Sunday, allowing Tulachka to take his first overall of the season. Brianna Mahon (Scooby-Doo) also picked up a Sky Wheelie win and two Freestyle wins.

Arena East – Cleveland

Krysten Anderson (Grave Digger) maintains a 21-point lead over Armando Castro (El Toro Loco) despite not bringing home any overall event championships at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse last weekend. Instead, two of those went the way of Armando Castro, and the other two went to Zack Garner in Wild Side. Mark Hall (Raminator) also picked up two Racing wins, proving that there is a lot of healthy competition in this series.

Arena West – Oklahoma City

Brandon Vinson had been dominating the Arena Championship Series West championship all season, meaning that Matt Cody (Grave Digger) had a bit of pressure on him heading into the Paycom Center. Cody delivered, winning the overall event championship for both Saturday events. On Sunday, it was Dalton Widner (Jurassic Attack) who took home the hardware. MJ Solorio (El Toro Loco) and Berto Treviño (Monster Mutt Rottweiler) picked up Donut wins, Ashley Sanford (Megalodon) picked up a Freestyle win, and Tony Ochs (ThunderROARus) picked up two Skills wins and a Freestyle win.
