Weekend Recap: From Wins 1 to 200

Authored by Monster Jam on February 12, 2024

All five domestic Monster Jam tours were in action last weekend, with one driver taking his first Overall Event Championship, while one driver took his 200th.

Stadium Championship Series West – Tampa

Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) looked set to continue to pad his points lead as the series rolled into Tampa, FL on Saturday, with Menninga winning Skills and Freestyle en route to taking home the overall. However, things fell apart for the black-and-green wrecking machine on Sunday, and it was Todd LeDuc (Megalodon) who capitalized and won Skills, Freestyle, and the Overall. Both racing events were won by Tristan England (JCB DIGatron) who now trails Menninga by just 6 points.

Stadium Championship Series East – Houston

Ryan Anderson (Son-uva Digger) continues to establish himself as the driver to beat in Stadium Championship Series East, winning Racing, Skills and the Overall in Saturday’s event at NRG Stadium. Joe Foley (El Toro Loco) continued to impress by taking the Freestyle win with a 9.469. The event was also a solid points haul for Kayla Blood (Soldier Fortune) with her placing second in Skills and third in Freestyle, giving her enough points for second Overall.

Arena Championship Series Central – Pittsburgh

Weston Anderson (Grave Digger) hit the ground running in Pittsburgh, nearly sweeping both the Friday and Saturday afternoon events, although Brianna Mahon (Scooby-Doo) broke through for competition wins too. However, Saturday evening things fell the way of the rookie driver Fernando Martinez (El Toro Loco) who took home his first Overall Event Championship win. Weston won the Overall again on Sunday, while Alex Bardin (Stone Crusher) also added his name to the list of firsts by picking up the Sunday Racing win.

Arena Championship Series East – Wilkes-Barre

The championship pendulum continues to swing back and forth between Krysten Anderson (Grave Digger) and Armando Castro (El Toro Loco), with Coty Saucier (Dragon) keeping them both in check. Krysten won the Overall on Friday and Saturday evening, while Armando won the Overall Saturday afternoon. Coty won Sunday in a three-way-tie on 26 points, with him getting the edge due to having the highest Freestyle score. Zack Garner (Wild Side) picked up a few competition wins throughout the weekend, while Mark Hall (Raminator) kicked the weekend off with a Racing win.

Arena Championship Series West – Denver

Brandon Vinson (Grave Digger) continues his impressive streak of never having finished worse than third overall this season. He won three of the four Overall Event Championships in Denver this weekend, with Dalton Widner (Jurassic Attack) taking the other. Saturday Evening’s win marked the 200th Overall Event Championship of Brandon Vinson’s career. Berto Treviño also broke through for his first competition win Saturday Evening in Donuts. Otherwise, the competitions were being won by Brandon, Tony Ochs (ThunderROARus) and Dalton Widner, with the battle for second in the points between Tony and Dalton proving to be a tight one.
